Vibra Hospital of Southeastern Michigan is licensed as an acute care hospital with a specialty designation of acute rehabilitation. We also have a Medicare designation as a long-term acute care (LTAC) hospital with an average length of stay of greater than 25 days. Both acute rehabilitation and LTAC services are designed to enhance the patient's functional levels, and both discharge a large percentage of patients home, indicating the overlapping process of healing patients to self-sustaining levels. Accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), we take pride in the quality of care that we provide, and as part of our compliance program, all of our employees under go annual training regarding HIPAA regulations, especially regarding the privacy rule. Located in Southeastern Michigan and the Lincoln Park area, we aspire to improve the quality of life for each person we treat. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) is a federal law that defines patients' rights to privacy and controls how their personal healthcare information is used. This healthcare information is commonly referred to as protected healthcare information or PHI. The law specifies who can access patients' protected, identifiable health information and when disclosure of this information is permitted.

HIPAA's privacy rule restricts the way personal health information can be used and disclosed; gives patients greater access to their medical records; and provides greater protection for patients' medical and financial records. It applies to all healthcare providers, including nursing homes, hospitals, pharmacies, laboratories, rehabilitation agencies, home health agencies, as well as healthcare clearinghouses and health plans.

We Care Program

Our “We Care Program” is designed to help families and patients make an easy transition to the unique services we provide. The first few days at our hospital is an important time for patients to learn about our services and take the steps toward recovery.

In our “We Care Program,” each patient at Vibra Hospital is assigned a “I Care Partner.” “I Care Partners” are leadership personnel from the many different departments within our hospital. These leaders manage the direct care staff who provide the day to day services our patients receive. “I Care Partners” are here to serve our patients and families. If an “I Care Partner” cannot help with a particular concern, they will help put you in touch with the person at Vibra Hospital who can.

Here's how it works:

Within one business day of admission, an “I Care Partner” will introduce themselves to the patient/family. Their goal is to introduce themselves as a resource for patients and families by offering to answer questions about our hospital and services. “I Care Partners” continue to keep in touch with patients/families periodically throughout the patient's stay at Vibra. Since “I Care Partners” are here to serve the patient and family, each “I Care Partner” provides their direct phone number during their initial encounter. There is also contact information provided for after-hours and weekends.
